Yeasted bread flavored with almonds, raisins and lemon zest. For a festive touch, the top is decorated with coffee cake icing and candied fruit.
This is my grandmother’s recipe. I tweaked it a little by using stone ground unbleached wheat flour. It’s a great compromise between white flour and whole wheat. Some people refer to it as “light wheat”.
